Man Killed in Street Racing, Hit-and-Run Crash on Victory Boulevard in Lake Balboa

 
LAKE BALBOA, CA (June 3, 2022) — A man died in a street racing, hit-and-run accident on Victory Boulevard near White Oak Avenue.
 
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal hit-and-run crash happened on May 28. After encountering a BMW sedan on the road, a Tesla driver engaged in speed racing with its driver. However, at some point, the Tesla driver lost control and veered off the road before crashing into a light pole and a tree.
 
According to reports, the BMW driver briefly stopped yet fled the scene shortly after.
 
Responding paramedics and authorities found the driver of the Tesla with fatal injuries, only describing him to be about 35 years old.
 
At this time, police need the public’s help with locating the suspect and vehicle involved in this incident. Officers believe the car involved in this hit-and-run is a lowered 2011 to 2015 BMW M3 or M5, dark blue or purple in color.
 
Those who can help authorities will receive an award of up to $50,000.
