David Cisneros Dies in Hit-and-Run Accident on Valley Parkway
ESCONDIDO, CA (October 12, 2021) — David Cisneros died in a hit-and-run crash on Valley Parkway near Citrus Avenue Saturday night.
According to police and the San Diego County Medical Examiner office, the fatal crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver in a white Mercedes Benz sedan struck Cisneros as he tried crossing Valley Parkway in his mobility scooter.
Subsequently, the driver fled the scene, leaving the 72-year-old with serious injuries. Shortly after, paramedics responded and transported him to Palomar Medical Center. Although, despite life-saving measures, Cisneros died the next morning.
At this time, authorities need witnesses’ help in locating the whereabouts of the hit-and-run driver. Therefore, anyone with information should call Escondido police Officer Paul Smyth at 760-839-4423.
