DUI Driver Struck and Killed by Sheriff’s Car on Highway 101
BURLINGAME, CA (April 9, 2021) — A DUI driver was hit and killed by a sheriff’s car on Highway 101 near Broadway Tuesday night.
According to authorities, the crash happened around 10:00 p.m. Officers tried to pull over a driver for possible drunk driving. However, as they tried taking him into custody, the man ran away.
Per reports, the seemingly impaired driver bolted across the southbound lanes and jumped over the center divider. Subsequently, an oncoming northbound sheriff’s vehicle struck the man in the northbound lanes.
As a result, the unidentified victim died in the crash.
No other injuries were reported in the accident. At this time, authorities have much to investigate. Although if anyone has more information on this accident, please contact the California Highway Patrol.
