17-Year-Old Tiana Hawkins Hit, Killed by Big Rig on 80 Freeway [Dixon, CA]

17-Year-Old Tiana Hawkins Struck, Killed by Semi-Truck on 80 Freeway at Dixon Avenue

 
DIXON, CA (June 22, 2021) — Tiana Hawkins died after being hit by a big rig on the 80 Freeway at Dixon Avenue early Sunday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 12:48 am. For unknown reasons, a red westbound Freightliner truck failed to yield to a crowd of vehicles. Subsequently, the Freightliner slammed into the cars and struck Hawkins, who was standing on the right shoulder.
 
Following the crash, investigators learned that Hawkins was involved in a prior collision with at least one vehicle. Unfortunately, the Sacramento teen suffered fatal injuries.
