3 Hurt in Escondido Stolen Vehicle Crash on Ash Street
ESCONDIDO, CA (June 17, 2021) — Three people were injured in a stolen vehicle accident on Ash Street at Vista Avenue Tuesday morning.
According to police officers, the two-vehicle crash happened around 8:00 a.m. Upon losing control, the driver of a stolen Ford Escape sideswiped a Honda Civic and careered off the road. Subsequently, the vehicle crashed into a light pole.
Following the crash, two people exited out of the stolen vehicle and fled the scene. Soon after, paramedics responded and brought the other occupants of the Ford, two of whom sustained serious injuries, to nearby hospitals for treatment. As for the occupants of the Honda, neither of the two suffered any injuries.
At this time, the cause of the crash and the whereabouts of the suspects remain unclear. However, if any witnesses would like to help the Escondido police officers, please contact the department.
