Late Evening Pedestrian Accident on Pomona Freeway in Riverside Turns Fatal
RIVERSIDE, CA (June 23, 2021) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on Pomona (60) Freeway in Riverside late Tuesday evening.
The accident happened around 11:20 p.m. at Orange Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was either walking or standing in the area when a vehicle struck him.
Arriving officers found the victim lying bleeding and unconscious in the third lane of the freeway. Paramedics immediately provided life-saving aid, but the victim died at the scene.
The identity of the pedestrian was withheld at this time pending family notification.
It is unknown if the driver remained on scene after the crash. The CHP is still conducting their investigation.
