Stranded Motorist Killed in Hit-and-Run on Highway 41 near Ashlan Avenue [Fresno, CA]

Fatal Hit-and-Run on Highway 41 in Central Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (June 27, 2021) – A stranded motorist was killed in a hit-and-run on Highway 41 in central Fresno Friday just before midnight.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:26 p.m. on June 25, near Ashlan Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the motorist was driving along the highway when he crashed his SUV for unknown reasons.
 
The motorist then got out of the vehicle to check for damage. While standing in the roadway, a passing car hit him. The driver of the passing car did not stop to render aid.
 
First responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately available.
 
The woman in the passenger seat of the SUV suffered minor injuries, CHP officials said.
 
Investigators described the fleeing vehicle as a gray sedan. They asked anyone with information or who witnessed the incident to call the CHP at 559-705-2200.
