Two Killed in Head-On Accident on Highway 33 at Douglas Avenue [Fresno County, CA]

Morning Head-On Accident on Highway 33 outside Firebaugh Leaves Two Drivers Dead

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (June 20, 2021) – Two people were killed in a head-on accident on Highway 33 in Fresno County Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened around 5:48 a.m. on June 20, at Douglas Avenue just outside Firebaugh. According to the California Highway Patrol, one pickup truck was traveling northbound on the highway and another pickup truck towing a farm equipment was heading southbound.
 
As the two trucks approached one another, the one traveling northbound drifted into the other’s lane and collided head-on.
 
Both trucks caught fire from severe impact, killing both drivers. The victims were the only occupants in the trucks.
 
It is still unknown what caused the northbound truck to drift into the southbound lane. Further investigation is underway.
