Driver Killed in Truck Accident on Highway 101 near North Access Road [San Francisco, CA]

Traffic Collision with Box Truck on Highway 101 near San Francisco Airport Leaves One Dead

 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (May 18, 2022) – A driver died in a truck accident on Highway 101 in San Francisco Friday evening on May 13.
 
The accident happened around 7:27 p.m. at the North Access Road on-ramp near San Francisco Airport. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of a Honda tried to make a U-turn across two pairs of double lines and collided with the driver of a box truck, who was entering the on-ramp at the same time.
 
As a result, the man driving the Honda suffered major injuries. Responding paramedics rushed him to San Francisco General Hospital, where he died Saturday.
 
The deceased may not have been properly restrained in a seat belt. He was 60 years old from South San Francisco.
 
Crews closed the ramp for about three hours during the investigation. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
