One Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 58 at Cannon Street [Kern County, CA]

Afternoon Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 58 in Kern County Ends in Fatality

 
KERN COUNTY, CA (May 30, 2022) – At least one person was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 58 in Kern County Thursday afternoon on May 26.
 
The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. at Cannon Street near the Frito Lay plant. According to the California Highway Patrol, a black Ford pickup truck and a red vehicle collided for unknown reasons. The impact caused the pickup truck to overturn on its roof.
 
When officers arrived, they confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the accident.
 
The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
Crews temporarily closed both westbound and eastbound lanes of the highway while they cleared the wreckage.
 
An investigation into this fatal crash is underway.
