Pedestrian Airlifted after Accident on Highway 108 [Jamestown, CA]

1 Seriously Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 108 near Rawhide Road in Jamestown

 
JAMESTOWN, CA (May 20, 2022) – A pedestrian sustained serious injuries following an accident on Highway 108, Thursday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on May 19, at about 10:15 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, an SUV hit the pedestrian near Rawhide Road, just in front of a Dollar General store.
 
An air ambulance transported the victim to a Modesto hospital for treatment of major injuries. Authorities did not release the name of the victim.
 
Meanwhile, it is unknown whether the driver of the SUV remained at the scene.
 
Responding officers closed a section of the highway for almost two hours to make way for an investigation.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
