Speeding Leads to Crash on Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento Killing 2 People
SACRAMENTO, CA (May 22, 2022) – Two people died in a high-speed accident on Stockton Boulevard in south Sacramento Saturday morning on May 21.
The accident happened around 8:45 a.m. at 65th Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, Sacramento police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on two cars that were driving recklessly and endangering the community in the area. Both cars led officers on a chase for about a half of a mile.
One of the cars crashed into an uninvolved car in the area of Stockton Boulevard and 65th Street, police said.
As a result of the crash, two people in the uninvolved car suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. They were not yet identified.
The driver of the speeding car sustained major injuries and was taken to a hospital.
The other car involved in the chase fled the area and has not been located.
Further investigation into this fatal crash is underway.
