19-Year-Old Fredy Marroquin Turcois Arrested after Stolen Vehicle Crash on Alameda de las Pulgas near Fairfax Avenue

 
SAN MATEO, CA (July 27, 2022) – Authorities arrested 19-year-old Fredy Marroquin Turcois of San Mateo after causing a hit-and-run collision on Alameda de las Pulgas, Saturday morning.
 
According to the San Mateo Police Department, the incident happened on July 23, at about 6:30 a.m. A speeding stolen vehicle reportedly struck another vehicle while traveling northbound on Alameda de las Pulgas.
 
The impact of the collision sent the stolen vehicle through the wooden fence of a home on the 500 block of Fairfax Avenue. Then, the vehicle hit a parked car before coming to rest.
 
As per reports, Turcois briefly spoke with the other driver before fleeing the scene on foot.
 
SMPD officers later conducted a probation search of the suspect’s home. There, Turcois was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run, vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, grand theft, and receiving stolen property.
 
San Mateo police will release additional information once it becomes available.
