Car Strikes and Kills 82-Year-old Man on Rohnert Park Expressway

 
ROHNERT PARK, CA (July 3, 2022) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Rohnert Park Expressway Friday on July 1.
 
The accident happened around noon, just east of San Simeon Drive. According to the Rohnert Park Police Department, a passing Ford sedan struck the pedestrian who was attempting to cross the busy expressway.
 
When officers arrived, they found the pedestrian lying in the roadway with significant injuries.
 
Despite life-saving efforts, the pedestrian died at the scene. He was only identified as an 82-year-old Rohnert Park man.
 
Several witnesses told officers the pedestrian was not in an area supported by a crosswalk or any traffic control signals.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford sedan remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
 
Drugs or alcohol was not a factor in the crash, police said.
