Driver Killed in 2-Car Accident on Highway 4 near 80 Freeway [Hercules, CA]

1 Dead in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 4 in Hercules

 
HERCULES, CA (April 17, 2024) — A driver died in a 2-car accident on Highway 4 near the 80 Freeway.
 
According to a California Highway Patrol report, the deadly two-vehicle collision occurred around 11:54 p.m. Sunday. Under unclear circumstances, a westbound gray Jeep Wrangler driver collided with a westbound silver Buick Regal motorist. Subsequently, paramedics responded to the scene and located two occupants. Unfortunately, the Buick driver suffered fatal injuries in the collision. Meanwhile, the Jeep driver was unharmed.
 
During a preliminary investigation, authorities learned that the Buick driver was not wearing a seat belt during the impact.
 
At this time, CHP Contra Costa investigators are looking into the crash to identify the cause. If any witnesses can help, please call investigators at (925) 646-4980.
