1 Dies, 4 Hurt in 2-Vehicle Collision on Highway 101 in Los Alamos
LOS ALAMOS, CA (June 14, 2024) — One person died in a 2-car accident on Highway 101 near Highway 135.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the fatal two-car crash happened around 4:30 p.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, two vehicles collided on Highway 101 in Los Alamos. Subsequently, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department arrived at the scene and airlifted one of four people to a hospital for treatment of injuries. They also took an infant to a hospital by ground ambulance.
In total, four people suffered a range of injuries, including two people with major injuries. However, one person, whom officials have not identified, passed away in the crash.
Authorities have not said what caused the accident. However, they are investigating the details to identify an explanation. If anyone has additional information, please call the California Highway Patrol.
