Cynthia Lorntzen Killed, Francisco Gonzalez Detained in DUI Single-Car Crash near Shay Road and Phantom

 
VICTORVILLE, CA (June 25, 2024) — Cynthia Lorntzen died in a DUI single-car accident near Shay Road and Phantom.
 
According to the Victorville Police Department, the fatal single-car crash happened around 7:00 p.m. Sunday. For DUI-related reasons, Francisco Enrique Gonzalez lost control of a Can-Am three-wheeled motorcycle near Shay Road. Subsequently, the vehicle approached an embankment as Gonzalez tried to brake. However, the cam-am veered off the road and rolled down a large embankment.
 
Soon after, emergency personnel responded and took a 19-year-old female passenger to a trauma center. A second passenger, later identified as 61-year-old Cynthia Lynn Lorntzen, passed away at the scene.
 
After the investigation, officers arrested Gonzalez, of Adelanto, who appeared to be impaired at the time of the incident. He has prior DUI convictions from 2017. If any witnesses have more information on this fatal crash, please call the Victorville Police at (760) 241-2911.
