Fiery Accident on Capital City Freeway Leaves Driver Dead and Two Passengers with Major Injuries
CAPITAL CITY, CA (June 26, 2024) – A woman was killed in a fiery accident on Capital City Freeway early Tuesday morning on June 25.
The fatal accident happened around 4:10 a.m. near Fulton Avenue, not far form the 80 Freeway merge. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was driving in the northbound lanes of the freeway when she lost control for unknown reasons.
The vehicle then crossed all lanes, overturned and burst into flames.
Two passengers in the vehicle, a man and a woman, were able to get out from the burning car. Both suffered major injuries.
Meanwhile, the female driver remained stuck and died at the scene. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release her identity once family members are notified.
