DUI Crash on Englehart Avenue near Reedley Leaves Two Men Dead
REEDLEY, CA (July 1, 2024) – Two people were killed in a DUI crash at Englehart Avenue and Manning Avenue just outside of Reedley on Saturday evening.
The fatal crash happened around 7:00 p.m. on June 29. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Impala was traveling southbound on Englehart Avenue approaching the stop sign at Manning Avenue. At the same time, a Ford F150 pickup truck carrying three people from Orange Cove was heading westbound on Manning Avenue.
For unknown reasons, the Chevrolet failed to stop at the stop sign and traveled into the path of the Ford. The Ford’s front end then collided with the left front of the Chevrolet.
As a result of the crash, the driver and right-front passenger of the Chevrolet sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Authorities only described them as two men in their 30s.
Meanwhile, the occupants of the Ford sustained minor injuries.
CHP officials believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, which is under investigation.
