Adam Whalen Dies in Motorcycle Crash on 55 Freeway near 405 Freeway
COSTA MESA, CA (June 18, 2021) — Adam Whalen died in a motorcycle crash on the 55 Freeway near the 405 Freeway Wednesday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle crash happened on the southbound freeway. For unknown reasons, Adam Thomas Whalen lost control and struck the rear of a 2014 Audi SUV in the No. 2 lane. As a result of the impact, the 34-year-old was ejected from his bike and landed on the road. There, several drivers ran over him.
Around 10:11 PM, authorities responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the Audi driver stayed for investigations, along with the other involved drivers. At this time, detectives have not confirmed the liabilities of this crash but do believe speed might have played a role.
