28-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Palm Springs
PALM SPRINGS, CA (June 27, 2021) – John Grizzell Jr. died in a hit-and-run crash early Friday morning on East Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs.
The fatal crash happened just after 4:00 a.m. on June 25, between Broadmoor Street and Golf Club Drive. According to the Palm Springs Police Department, the 28-year-old Palm Springs man was walking in the area when a car struck him.
After the crash, the driver did not stop to render aid leaving Grizzell with significant injuries.
Responding units attempted saving Grizzell, but he died at the scene.
Police are still searching for the suspect vehicle. They described it as a possible silver 2005 or 2006 Nissan Altima with damage to the hood, windshield, and passenger side.

East Palm Canyon Drive was closed for nearly six hours Friday morning. Palm Springs Police reopened the roadway roughly around 10:19 a.m.
