Isaiah Martinez Killed in Car Accident on Finney Road [Modesto, CA]

Passenger Dies after SUV Crashes into Fence and Trees in Modesto

 
MODESTO, CA (July 30, 2022) – Isaiah Martinez was killed in a car accident in Modesto late Wednesday evening on July 20.
 
The accident happened shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Finney Road, just south of North Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, Martinez was a passenger in a Chevrolet Suburban that heading south on Finney Road at a high rate of speed.
 
The driver allowed the SUV to drift into the northbound lane. He overcorrected, causing the Suburban to leave the west side of the roadway and crash into a fence.
 
The large vehicle continued into an orchard, striking multiple trees and a guy wire, before coming to rest on its left side.
 
As a result of the crash, Martinez suffered major injuries. Responding paramedics rushed him to Doctors Medical Center, where he later died. He was 24 years old. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
 
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old driver was badly hurt and taken to Memorial Medical Center.
 
Authorities said alcohol intoxication was believed to be a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
