Janet Carrillo Killed in DUI Hit-and-Run Crash on Magnolia Street [Garden Grove, CA]

Woman Dies after DUI Driver Hits Garden Grove Home and Tries to Flee

 
GARDEN GROVE (May 14, 2024) – Janet Carrillo was killed in a DUI hit-and-run crash in Garden Grove early Sunday morning on May 12.
 
The fatal crash happened around 1:55 a.m. in the 11800 block of Magnolia Street. According to the Garden Grove Police Department, a 35-year-old Riverside man was driving a 2019 Toyota Camry when he crashed into a residence.
 
Carrillo was inside the home and was struck by the car. She was trapped in the wreckage and died at the scene. She was 40 years old.
 
Meanwhile, the man driving the Camry fled the scene.
 
Police later found the suspect and arrested him.
 
Alcohol and/or drugs are believed to be a factor in the crash, which is under investigation.
