1 Killed in Multi-Vehicle Accident Involving Semi-Truck on 60 Freeway [Azusa, CA]

Fatal Semi-Truck Accident on 60 Freeway near Azusa Avenue

 
AZUSA, CA (June 5, 2024) – One person died in a multi-vehicle accident involving a semi-truck on 60 Freeway, Monday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on June 3, at about 10:28 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a semi-truck and two other vehicles collided in the westbound freeway near Azusa Avenue.
 
Emergency crews pronounced one person dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Responders later issued a SigAlert for the closure of four lanes of the westbound freeway to make way for clearing operations and an investigation.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
