Motorcyclist Killed in Accident on Old Highway 80 [East County, CA]

54-Year-Old Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Old Highway 80 near Golden Acorn Casino

 
EAST COUNTY, CA (June 5, 2024) – A 54-year-old man from Ramona died in a motorcycle accident on Old Highway 80, Monday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on June 3, at about 5:45 p.m. A southbound Toyota Corolla reportedly attempted to make a left turn into the Golden Acorn Casino parking lot. There, the vehicle collided with a northbound 2022 Harley Davidson Road.
 
The impact of the collision ejected the rider from his motorcycle.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, an ambulance transported the 78-year-old Toyota driver to a San Diego hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
 
CHP ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the fatal collision. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
