1 Dies in Motorcycle, RV Crash on Highway 49 in Madera County
MADERA COUNTY, CA (June 24, 2024) — One person died in a motorcycle accident on Highway 49 near Hilltop Lane Sunday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 3:50 p.m. For an unknown reason, a 20-year-old Lemoore resident operating a southbound motorcycle failed to stay within his lane. Subsequently, his motorcycle crashed into a northbound RV on Highway 49.
As a result of the crash, the motorcyclist passed away at the scene. Officials did not release his identity. Meanwhile, the 26-year-old RV driver was unharmed.
At this time, authorities do not believe alcohol or drugs factored into the cause. However, anyone with more information can call the CHP.
