13-Year-Old Boy Injured in E-Bike Accident on El Camino Real [Millbrae, CA]

Teen Boy Hospitalized after E-Bike and Box Truck Accident on El Camino Real near Taylor Boulevard

MILLBRAE, CA (June 6, 2024) – A 13-year-old boy sustained injuries in an e-bike accident on El Camino Real, Tuesday afternoon.

According to the San Mateo Police Department, the incident happened on June 4, at about 3:00 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, the northbound e-bike crashed into the rear of the box truck near Taylor Boulevard.

Emergency crews transported the teen boy to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.

Meanwhile, the driver of the box truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Responders temporarily closed the area to make way for an investigation. As per reports, the road reopened several hours later.

San Mateo police continue to investigate the cause of the accident. Anyone with additional information is asked to call the detectives at (650) 649-8620.
