88-Year-Old Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 118 near Montair Drive [Moorpark, CA]

Elderly Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Truck on Highway 118 in Moorpark

 
MOORPARK, CA (June 26, 2024) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 118 in a rural area of Moorpark late Sunday evening on June 23.
 
The fatal crash happened shortly after 11:00 p.m. just west of Montair Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, a large, dark-colored truck struck the man and drove away from the scene.
 
Responding fire personnel found the man lying in the roadway. They tried to perform life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead.
 
Authorities only identified the victim as a Moorpark resident. They withheld his name pending notification of next of kin.
 
The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation. Anyone with further information is asked to contact the CHP’s Moorpark Office at 805-553-0800.
