Kenia Berber Dies in DUI Accident on 580 Freeway near Foothill Road
PLEASANTON, CA (February 25, 2021) — Kenia Berber died in a DUI accident on the 580 Freeway near Foothill Road on Valentine’s Day.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the DUI crash happened around 4:50 p.m. Just west of Foothill Road, a speeding Toyota sedan veered off the road. Subsequently, the Toyota traveled up a dirt embankment and overturned onto its roof.
As a result of the accident, Kenia Hernandez Berber was ejected from the car and suffered major injuries. Shortly after, the 25-year-old San Leandro woman died at Eden Medical Center, despite having received life-saving efforts.
According to investigations, police arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI.
At this time, the crash remains under investigation. However, any witnesses with insight should call the CHP.
