Man Fatally Injured after Motorcycle Accident on Briggsmore Avenue at McHenry Village
MODESTO, CA (March 1, 2021) — A Modesto man died in a motorcycle accident on Briggsmore Avenue on Saturday, February 27.
According to Modesto Police Lt. Chris Adams, at around 6:15 p.m., they received reports of the accident. Officers and medical responders rushed to Briggsmore just east of the “turning pocket” at the north entrance of McHenry Village.
When they arrived at the scene, they discovered the victim, a 52-year-old man, with major injuries. Medics rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he died of sustained injuries.
The driver of the other car, a 52-year-old woman, stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers, Adams stated.
The events that led to the crash are still under investigation. However, it appears the motorcyclist moves eastbound on Briggsmore, and the driver of the car traveled westbound. That suggests that she may have used the turning pocket to McHenry Village from Briggsmore.
The identity of the motorcyclist was not available pending family notification.
