One Dead in Mendota Head-On Crash on Highway 180
MENDOTA, CA (February 16, 2021) — One person was killed in a head-on accident on Highway 180 near Highway 33.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision happened around 11:15 a.m.
For unknown reasons, a Ford F-150 heading westbound on the highway blew out its tire. As a result, the driver of the Ford lost control of the wheel and veered into the eastbound lanes. There, the Ford struck another vehicle head-on, killing that second driver.
At this time, CHP officers have not released the fatal victim’s name. Reports have not included information on whether the Ford driver sustained any injuries.
