Multi-Vehicle Accident on International Boulevard in Oakland Leaves 1 Driver Dead
OAKLAND, CA (February 26, 2021) – A multi-vehicle accident on International Boulevard in Oakland killed one person.
The accident happened around 11:46 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, at Seminary Avenue.
Police said a 23-year-old San Lorenzo man was speeding east in a Chevrolet Camaro. He entered the intersection against a red light and collided with a Ford Explorer, which was stopped at the red light.
After the initial crash, a Lexus ES350 broadsided the Camaro, causing the Camaro to slam into a Honda Civic and a street light pole.
As a result, the driver of the Camaro suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver and a passenger of the Lexus complained of pain and taken to a hospital.
No other involved party was injured.
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
The Oakland Police Department is investigating the accident.
