Juvenile Fatally Struck by Train at P and 24th Streets
MERCED, CA (March 14, 2021) – A 16-year-old boy died after hit by a train Saturday afternoon in Merced, authorities said.
The boy has been identified as Devonea Graham.
According to the Merced Police Department, the accident happened in the area of P Street and 24th Street before 4:00 p.m., March 13.
Police said Graham was trying to cross the tracks with friends when the train struck him. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
As of 4:00 p.m., the train remained stopped, blocking traffic in the area for at least the several hours.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
