Camp Pendleton Three-Vehicle Accident on Las Pulgas Road Kills 1 Marine and Injures 2
CAMP PENDLETON, CA (March 10, 2021) – A U.S. marine was killed in a three-vehicle accident on Las Pulgas Road in Camp Pendleton Sunday afternoon.
The accident happened around 5:00 p.m., March 7, on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. According to the California Highway Patrol, the Marines were in their personal vehicles and off-duty at the time of the crash.
The impact of the crash killed one of the marines. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
Two others sustained unspecified injuries. One was airlifted to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, and a third service member was treated at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton.
The exact cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
