High-Speed Chase Leads to Fatal Fiery Car Accident on Bullard Avenue in Fresno
FRESNO, CA (March 12, 2021) – A driver died in a fiery accident on Bullard Avenue on March 11.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at West Avenue around 3:30 PM.
Based on a report, it started two miles away from the crash site at Marks and Browning. There, officers made contact with the victim who was inside a Penske rental van whom 911 callers described as asleep or passed out behind the wheel. Fresno Police Lt. Rob Beckwith said after a short conversation, the driver sped off, leading officers on a high-speed chase. As the van drove east on Bullard, he drove through a red light crashing into a car at the West intersection. Subsequently, the van took out a traffic signal and burst into flames.
As a result, the driver died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s identity pending kin notification.
As of now, officials are still getting the complete details that led to this fiery accident on Bullard Avenue.
