Fatal Head-On Accident on West Main Street in Stanislaus County
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (March 9, 2021) – Two men were killed in a head-on accident on West Main Street east of South Carpenter Road in rural Stanislaus County.
The accident happened around 12:35 p.m. Monday, March 8, about halfway between Turlock and Patterson. According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver Chevrolet Silverado and a black Chevrolet sedan collided head-on.
For reasons being investigated, one of the vehicles veered into the path of the other, officers said. They have not determined which vehicle it was.
As a result, both adult male drivers suffered significant injuries. They were dead upon arrival of CHP officers, Stanislaus County sheriff’s deputies, firefighters and ambulance crews.
The Stanislaus County coroner will release the victims’ identities once family members are notified.
West Main was closed at Crows Landing and Carpenter roads as the crash was investigated and the scene was cleared.
