Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99 in Fresno
FRESNO, CA (March 12, 2021) – Police confirmed that a woman died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 99 on March 9.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Ashlan Avenue shortly before 7:00 PM.
Based on a report, the victim was on the road at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, an unidentified vehicle struck her. In addition, officials said there were other vehicles that hit the woman.
As a result, the victim died in the incident. Officers did not release her identity but believe the victim was homeless and living near the highway.
Responding officers shut down two of the four lanes of traffic for several hours while they work on the case.
Drivers who hit the victim pulled over and are cooperating with the investigation. As of now, officials don’t have additional details on this pedestrian accident on Highway 99.
