Fatal Train Accident on Santa Fe Way in Northwest Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 11, 2021) – A juvenile was killed in a train accident on Santa Fe Way near Renfro Road Sunday evening.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the accident happened around 6:40 p.m. on April 11.
The juvenile was reportedly in the area when the train struck them. First responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The age of the victim was not immediately clear, but authorities said they appeared to be an older teen or maybe in their early 20s.
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were contributing factors. The circumstances of this fatal crash remain under investigation.
