Woman Dies in Kearny Mesa Pedestrian Crash on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard
KEARNY MESA, CA (April 13, 2021) — A woman died in a pedestrian accident on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard near Overland Drive Sunday night.
According to San Diego police officers, the fatal crash happened around 10:00 p.m. in the 9200 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard.
Under unclear circumstances, a 35-year-old driver in a 2006 Toyota Tundra street sweeper struck the woman in a marked crosswalk. Per investigators, the woman had been standing in the crosswalk for unknown reasons prior to the impact.
As a result of the crash, the pedestrian suffered severe injuries and died a short time later.
