Morning Accident on Highway 87 in San Jose Leaves One Dead

 
SAN JOSE, CA (May 30, 2021) – One person was killed and another was arrested after an accident on Highway 87 in San Jose Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened around 6:00 a.m. on May 30, along the northbound highway, just near the Mineta San Jose International Airport and the transition to Highway 101. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle went off the roadway for unknown reasons.
 
As a result, one person suffered severe injuries and died at the scene. The victim was probably the passenger in the vehicle, officials said. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
Paramedics transported another person to a hospital with unspecified injuries. That person was later arrested by police.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
