Martin Clifton Dies After Being Run Over by Vehicle on Travis Boulevard near 80 Freeway

 
FAIRFIELD, CA (June 14, 2021)Martin Clifton died Friday morning after being run over by a truck on Travis Boulevard near the 80 Freeway.
 
According to the Fairfield Police, the crash happened around 5:20 a.m. For unknown reasons, 59-year-old Clifton climbed onto the back of a truck stationed at one of the fuel pumps at a local gas station.
 
Shortly after, the driver began driving away. However, the Fairfield man fell over when the truck began moving. As a result, the truck driver ran over him, being unaware that he had done so.
 
Tragically, Clifton died in the incident. As of now, the driver of the vehicle has been cooperative with police investigators. However, if anyone has more information on this crash, please contact the Fairfield Police Department.
