One Killed in Head-On Accident on Highway 62 at Dillon Road [Whitewater, CA]

Head-On Accident on Highway 62 in Whitewater Kills 1 and Injures Another

 
WHITEWATER, CA (June 1, 2021) – At least one person was killed in a head-on accident on Highway 62 in Whitewater just west of Palm Springs.
 
The accident happened around 10:09 p.m. on Monday, May 31, at the intersection with Dillon Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the highway when it collided head-on with another vehicle.
 
An initial report also added that one vehicle had overturned and collided into oncoming traffic.
 
As a result, one person suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The victim’s identity was not immediately available.
 
CHP officials are still trying to determine if speed, drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
