GARDENA, CA (June 6, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run near Western Avenue and 132nd Street in Gardena Saturday evening.
 
The fatal incident happened around 9:50 p.m. on June 5 near the intersection. According to the Gardena Police Department, the pedestrian was either walking or standing in the area when a light-colored van struck them. The motorist did not stop after the crash, leaving the victim with severe injuries.
 
Arriving paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but the pedestrian died at the scene. The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
