Worker Dies after Train Strikes Sweeper Truck near Linne Road
TRACY, CA (June 10, 2021) — A worker died after a train crashes into a sweeper truck near Linne Road and MacArthur Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly accident occurred around 7:00 a.m. Wednesday. For unknown reasons, a worker conducting a broom sweeping job rode across the tracks and became stuck in between the arms. Shortly after, an Altamont Corridor Express commuter train with 50 passengers on board slammed into the sweeper truck.
As a result, the unidentified worker died in the crash and a Hazmat team responded to a diesel fuel leak.
At this time, authorities have not confirmed the ultimate cause. However, if anyone has more information, please contact the CHP.
