Car Overturns after Hit-and-Run on 280 Freeway near Outer Mission Neighborhood
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (July 15, 2021) – Three people sustained injuries in a hit-and-run collision on 280 Freeway, early Sunday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on July 11, shortly after 5:00 p.m. A vehicle slammed into the rear of another vehicle in San Francisco’s Outer Mission neighborhood.
The impact of the collision caused the first vehicle to overturn.
As per reports, the occupants of the overturned vehicle did not sustain injuries. A short time later, a third vehicle picked them up and fled the scene.
Meanwhile, three people in the second vehicle – two children and one adult – were transported to a trauma center.
Responders temporarily closed three lanes of southbound 280 Freeway between San Jose Avenue on-ramp and the Ocean Avenue off-ramp.
CHP continues to investigate the accident.
