Denisse Ramirez, Alex Soto, Lilia Cortez Hurt, 11-Month-Old Dead in 3-Car Crash on Highway 156 near Pacheco Creek Drive

SAN BENITO COUNTY, CA (July 27, 2021) — Denisse Ramirez and several others were injured while an 11-month-old died in Sunday’s three-car accident on Highway 156 near Pacheco Creek Drive.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal multi-car accident happened around 1:24 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia heading westbound failed to stop behind a 2020 Toyota Corolla that was in stopped traffic. Subsequently, the Freightliner crashed into the Toyota, pushing it into a 2021 Volvo VNL 760.

As a result of the crash, an 11-month-old in the Toyota died at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported Ramirez to Hazel Hawkins and Alex Soto and Lilia Cortez, also Toyota occupants, to Natividad Medical Center.

As for Satinderpal Singh, the driver of the Freightliner, he sustained no injuries, as did the Volvo driver.

At this time, police have ruled out DUI as a possible explanation for the crash. Although, anyone with information should call the Hollister-Gilroy CHP area office at (408) 848-2324.
