Coroner Identifies Man Killed in Early Morning Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 14 in Acton
ACTON, CA (July 18, 2021) – Humberto Balderrama died in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 14 in Acton early Friday morning.
The accident happened around 1:15 a.m. on July 16, at the Ward Road on-ramp. CHP officers said two vehicles collided for unknown reasons, causing one of them to overturn and sending the other about 100 feet up an embankment.
Balderrama suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 48-year-old Kern County resident, according to the coroner’s office.
It is unknown if Balderra was one of the drivers.
At this time, it remains unclear if speed, drugs or alcohol was a factor.
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the exact cause of the accident and factors involved.
