John Lopez III, Daniel Motley, Fabian Castillo Among Several Hurt in Fatal Multi-Car Accident on Highway 101 near El Capitan Ranch Road

 
GOLETA, CA (July 19, 2021)—John Lopez III and several others were injured in a fatal multi-car accident on Highway 101 near El Capitan Ranch Road Thursday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-car accident happened around 8:00 am. For unknown reasons, a 29-year-old woman in a 2003 Ford Expedition veered from the north to the southbound lanes.
 
As a result, the Ford Expedition, traveling about 70 mph, crashed into several cars, including a 2017 Ford F-450, a 2017 Honda Accord, a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan and a 2017 Chevy Bolt.
 
Tragically, two female passengers of the Expedition died at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics brought the driver and two passengers to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with major injuries.
 
According to reports, 31-year-old Lopez — the driver of the Honda Accord — and his passengers — 28-year-old Daniel Motley and 36-year-old Fabian Castillo — suffered minor injuries.
