Kevin Payne Identified as Victim of Fatal Crash on Emery Street in Emeryville
EMERYVILLE, CA (July 21, 2021) – Police identified Kevin Payne as the victim of a fatal three-vehicle crash on Emery Street on July 16.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near West MacArthur Boulevard around 10:05 PM.
Based on reports, three vehicles collided in the lanes. So, emergency crews responded to the incident and extricated parties from the wreckage.
As a result, one of the motorists died in the incident. The Alameda County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Kevin Payne, 33, of Stockton. Also, paramedics took two other people to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
Afterward, crews shut down the 580 Freeway off-ramps for several hours to give way to a clearing operation and an investigation.
At this point, no other details about the case are available. In addition, an investigation into it is ongoing.
