Deadly Electric Scooter Accident on Business 80 in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 4, 2021) – A man was killed in an electric scooter accident on Business 80 in Sacramento early Saturday morning, July 3.
The accident happened around 3:00 a.m. south of the American River Bridge. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 31-year-old man was driving a Nissan Altima northbound on Business 80 in the second lane when he crashed into the 21-year-old Sacramento man who was riding the electric scooter.
The driver then called 911. Paramedics arrived soon after and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The electric scooter was heavily damaged after the crash.
At this time, it is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash. An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
